Oct 08, 2016 · I don't think it works because my APU is a Radeon A4 and it doesn't work, and is too new for it to be listed at all. My AMD GPU is R6xx, and I have to use an older Radeon graphics card with it, and shut off the graphics on the APU from bios. Run dmesg | grep -i ATI to show the gpu type, and compare with the link above. Furthermore, now that I've done more homework on the issue, like you pointed out, there's mismatch and I'm guessing it's mostly because the distro I use, CRUX, is very bleeding edge with it's releases, where the amdgpu driver was looking an older version. I’d strongly recommend you do not use this approach and stick to the “free” (ati/radeon) drivers so you’re not baking-in an old Xorg version with whatever security vulnerabilities it has. However, xorg is still not identifying my monitor's native resolution (2560x1440) and is booting at 1024x768 with no ability for me to change it in the GUI. so another issue to troubleshoot...
